About The Producer
Who is dbrown?
Atlanta native Darryl Brown aka dbrown has been a part of music community for quite a while also a great beats producer. At the age of 11 he was introduced to the bass guitar. While in high school, he played his first pro gig with local greats Derrick Scott (now Peabo Bryson’s guitar Player), Rodney Creswell (guitarist) and late great brother Johnny Creswell (drummer). It wasn’t long before he began playing professionally in and around his home town of Atlanta, GA. He played with local legends such as The Greg Willis Band, Personality Band, Eddie Lott, Edward Stroud, Carlton Clark, Ken Reynolds, MBI Stage Band and many others. Playing professionally is where he developed music theory skills. He went on to learn guitar, keyboards, sound design, audio engineering, mixing and composing.
After several years of playing gigs for a living he decided to explore other facids of the music industry. It was at that time he enrolled at The Music Business Institute. There he learned a ton about the business and how things work. After graduating, he set out on his path to become a songwriter/producer.
His very first TV opportunity came in the early 90s on Atlanta’s first creative arts show called the Human Product Factory. There he held the position of Music Staff Writer. His duties included composing music for skits and promotions. He also did sound design for the show. The show aired on Atlanta’s People TV channel 24 (channel 12 at that time).
Since he had developed skills in graphic and web design, he would spend the next 10 years creating web sites, graphics, videos, etc as a means to generate income while he perfected his production skills.
In 2010 he returned to his main love of music production. Since then he has secured publishing deals with several major music publishers worldwide.
His music has been placed on networks such as Oxygen, MTV, MTV2 and others. He has also written for Theatrical Children Stage Play “Cory’s Club.” Today his music can be heard on several episodes of Bad Girls Club, Ridiculousness, Geordie Shore, New York Undercover, Moesha and Bad Girls Club All Star Battle to name a few.
dbrown has also provided Web, Videography and Graphic services for Indie Record Labels such as Centerpiece Records (Atlanta), Rueshell Records (Fort Worth, Texas) TRV Entertainment (Atlanta) DMYX Entertainment (Atlanta) and Official Entertainment (Atlanta). In 2014 he produced and directed music and video for jazz flutist Naazir.
Currently he is working on the Cam Raven Project . The project’s release date is scheduled for Feb 2017.
