Below is a list of frequently asked questions about buying or leasing beats from HypnoticBeats.net. If your question does not appear below, feel free to contact us for a speedy response.

Do I have to have a Paypal account to make purchases?

We accept all major credit and debit cards.

What is the difference between a standard and premium lease?

HypnoticBeats.net offers two types of non-exclusive licensing: Standard lease & Premium lease.

A Standard lease covers multiple rights that can be done with a song using the beat including 2500 copies of physical or digital sales, five radio station rotations, $1,500 in show/concert earnings, and three soundtrack uses. Includes MP3 file encoded at 320.

A Premium Lease will give you all the rights of a standard lease, except will allow 5000 copies of physical or digital sales as well as allow you to make unlimited earnings in one live show/concert (suitable for large shows). Once these limitations are met, you will need to either purchase a new lease of the beat or buy exclusive rights to the beat in order to continue using the beat commercially.

Do I own the beat if I purchase exclusive rights?

Exclusive rights mean you are granted exclusive rights to the beat exclusively. It does not include ownership to the beat or ownership to the copyrights. We still own the beat. We will no longer offer the beat to our customers when this is done. The only exception is customers who purchased a lease to that beat prior to entering an exclusive purchase will still abide by the terms in their lease agreements.

Can I exchange or get refund on beat if I change my mind about it?

No. All sales are final. It is the buyer’s responsibility to make an educated purchase upon checking out. In the case of charge backs, all rights of the buyer are no longer valid. As long as funds are in our account, the agreements are active.

Can I request changes to be made to beats before or after purchasing?

No. All beats are sold on an “As Is” basis. Before releasing beats in our beat store, we examine beats to ensure they are studio ready and are presented at the best quality possible. It is up to the buyer to decide if the beat fits their criteria (arrangements, structure, quality, etc).

If you desire to have a beat “made for hire”, please contact us for more details.

What are Exclusive Rights?

When you purchase exclusive rights to a beat, you will receive an untagged MP3 and WAV files of the beat (or song), . The song file will be delivered digitally. Exclusive rights grant you unlimited commercial recordings and broadcasts. You have full rights to record, alter, mix the beat/song in any shape, way, or form (except reselling the beat). You will receive your contract during checkout granting you exclusive rights to the beat. You own the recording as a “work made for hire”. The original seller may no longer lease or sell the beat/song, except for prior leasing rights holders and his/her own promotional page (no downloads there). The seller will not receive a royalty from the sale of records or downloads. You must however give full credit to the seller (hypnoticbeats.net and/or producer’s name “dbrown”) on all commercial recordings.

How the Untagged Beat Delivery Works ( Voice Tag Info )

When you add a beat to your beat store you will upload multiple versions of the beat.

  • Tagged Beat – This is the tagged preview version of your beat. You must add tags manually before uploading.
  • Untagged Beat – This can be a WAV or MP3, in a ZIP file.

Once your visitor pays for a beat, they are redirected to a download page to download the untagged beat, and are sent a email confirmation with download link as well.

In the beat store settings under the MISC tab you can limit the number of times a download link can be clicked. By default the download link count is 3 times, then it expires.

What is a leased beat or non-exclusive rights?

You will receive an encoded MP3 file of the untagged song. The song file can be delivered digitally. Leasing rights allow you to use the beat for non-profit promotional use or demos. You have full rights to record, alter, mix the beat/song in any shape, way, or form (except reselling the beat). You will receive a contract upon checking out. In the event that someone buys exclusive rights to the beat you have leased, your rights shall stand and the beat is still yours to use.

You may also acquire premium leasing rights if you wish to sell copies or downloads, etc. With a premium lease, you will receive both MP3 and WAV files. You must however give full credit to the seller (website and/or producer name) on all recordings (hypnoticbeats.net and/or dbrown as producer of beat). Upon purchasing leasing rights (regular lease or premium lease), the seller still owns the beat(s) and the seller is able to resell the beat(s) to any other party until exclusive rights have been purchased.
